Coronavirus is known to be one of the most aggressive and contagious viruses human population has ever faced. Due to the asymptomatic victims of catching coronavirus and the airborne aspect of this spread from the coughs, sneezes, and speaking, "social/physical distancing" has been a new way to prevent people from catching this virus. Because it is easily spread through the small distance between humans, people have started to distance themselves from any human contact till the numbers of admitted patients and deaths have decreased. Social distancing has helped China drastically decrease the number of sick COVID-19 patients to almost none. Although not many countries are not decreasing their count in sick and dying patients, it has been proven in China that social distancing has its effective outcome.

It is definitely possible to avoid contracting COVID-19 by covering your mouth when sneezing or coughing. Although wearing masks and gloves are not as effective, it is still recommended to decrease the chances of catching the virus. When washing your hands, extend it to at least 20 seconds with warm water and lots of soap. But most importantly, staying quarantine is the smartest and most effective way to avoid contracting coronavirus.

Other than building resistance to the coronavirus after exposure, you can develop immunity by exercising at home and eating well, ideally vegetables and fruits. Although there is no official announcement about a vaccine that works against the COVID-19, coronavirus vaccine candidate has just been injected so we are waiting for the results.

  2. According to the recent survey , we can clearly see that the percentage of people contracted with COVID-19 has dramatically increased in recent days. As the most aggressive and contagious disease in recent years, actually there is no practical way to develop our immunity to against it. I think going on a regular basis will be the basic way to develop our immune system. Having enough of sleep, going on regular exercise, and consuming nutritious and healthy food make us become energetic and will become more stronger to prevent the virus.
Since, there is no effective vaccine for us to prevent being infected from Corona virus ,the best way to avoid contracting COVID-19 is to stay at home and avoid unnecessary contact with people and keep ourselves healthy. In these days, the Poland government announced that people shouldn't go out except for work or buying daily necessities. Even stores can't be entered without wearing gloves. I suggest that the government should announce that everyone should wear masks whenever they go out . In this way the number of increasing cases can be control more better.

In Edward Hopper's paintings, you can see that businesses and streets have changed from a bustling atmosphere to the presence of shopkeepers and there is no one on the street.
This is like the current state of the world, standing on the street can always feel lonely.
Recently, governments of various countries have announced that there is a distance of 1.5-2 meters between people, that there can only be 1-2 people at the same time between the merchant and the store, and that they wear gloves to enter the physical store to buy items. Although the policy may be said to cause a decrease in intimacy between people, the implementation of such a policy is to slow down the COVID-19 epidemic from invading the world again.
Regardless of personal hygiene, washing hands diligently, wearing masks and gloves to go out, reducing the chance of outdoor and contact with the crowd, I think all are needed for this outbreak.
Reduce discrimination in words and actions, and treat the epidemic as a global war of resistance.

There are more and more policies announced by Polish government, like ban on gatherings of more than two people or in public transport only half of the seating positions. Although these polities keep the provided distance, most people still don't wear a face mask in Europe. I think wearing a face mask is the most effective way to prevent virus. People may be unable to prevent virus effectively due to the culture differences. So, we can only decrease the opportunity of contacting with other people. For instance, I go to stores just to buy matters necessary for life once every two weeks. Every time I come back home; the first thing I will do is go to wash hands immediately. And never touch face such as nose, eyes and mouth especially when I'm outside. Furthermore, having a good diet and enough sleeping to develop our immunity are also important. Along with the dramatic increasing of confirmed cases, we should be well-prepared for the precautions to prevent infection.

As we know many cases from around the world, it has been confirmed that the viruses have mutated. Cases seen in Iceland and England have confirmed this point. Many people compared this virus to the flu, saying that we do not have to be afraid of it. I think the truth is totally opposite. As we have seen from Italy , the death rate is nearly10 percent, and the death Rate in Spain is nearly 5 percent. Also, some people who contract the covid-19 may not develop any syndrome, so it is more likely to contract it and pass it to more people. It’s hard to say that when will the disease come to an end, as some cases developed new and rarely symptoms that we have never seen it before. Still, vaccine is the only way to fight against the Covid-19 efficiently and effectively. However, we still have to go to work , going to grocery and mall to get enough food. The contact between people is still inevitable. And I have seen many people in the road didn’t wear a mask and seemed nothing happened. If we do not take it seriously to any kind of disease, then it will be the best opportunity for the virus to mutate, to grow, and to evolve. “Survival of the fittest ” suits for people , but also the virus. The virus will become stronger, it is just a matter of time.

Social distancing is a temporary and emergent means. The lesser chance in contact with people, the lesser chance we will contract the virus. This old method is still effective all the time. But I think social media and network connects the world and people around us. Using Facebook, Line ,and Instagram don’t necessary isolated ourselves to others. Instead, we share our quarantine lives and activities to others , and also got messages form our relatives and friend. Consequently, we are not alone , thanks to this modern Internet-connecting world. If we do not have TV or smartphone , how can we get the up-to-date message regarding the virus news around the globe? By internet, we still learn a lot useful techniques and knowledge from it. Face to face meeting and interaction might not be so necessary in this critical situation. I bought a second hand treadmill two months ago, so it’s a perfect time to train myself even the cityfit has closed for a while. Also, I have a dumbbell in my dorm, with theses equipment, I can still stay in shape and maintain good condition both mentally and phiscically.

As far as we know , the new coronavirus is a respiratory virus which spreads primarily through droplets generated when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose.  Hence, social distancing has been adopted as policy in many countries , for instance , people can not gather in a limited number .It is also demended that people should be in the safety range with others . In my opinion , absolutely , social distancing could avoid people to contract such virus but what’s more important is the attitude you face such situation . In addition , it is also extremely important to build up our immunity in our daily lives . The ways to strengthen our immune system include : don’t smoke , eat in a healthy diet , regular exercise , e.t.c.

During this tough time for the whole world , people should follow the core concept of social distancing . Since there is no vaccine yet , the most effective method of prevention is social distancing . To sum up , not only should we obey to the specifications but only be aware of the people around us . The more we develop immunity and keep distance with others , the less chance we can be infected by the virus .

In these days, there were more and more people affected by COVID-19. Since the COVID-19 is a virus that mainly infect people by droplet, one of the useful methods to keep the disease away is “social distancing “.
I agree with this idea because it’s not only to protect ourselves but also others. You will never know who is the one with Coronavirus. There is no vaccine yet, and the contagiousness of COVID-19 is very high.
To improve the immunity of our body, we can do some exercises at home. Also, we should stay optimistic. Mental health may affect the immunity.

It is quite intriguing that the society before COVID-19 was like those Edward Hopper paintings mental-wise. We seemed and look interactive with people, or we thought we were, but deep down we need social media to keep up with our friends and the world. However, after COVID-19 happened, it’s like we’re stuck in an Edward hopper painting, both mentally and physically, and there’s no telling if we would be able to escape from it after the crisis is over.

There are countless ways to protect ourselves from COVID-19. On my flight back to Taiwan, I wore two layers of face masks, changed my gloves every couple of hours, and had goggles on for the whole flight. People even have a full set of protective suits just to minimize the possibilities of getting COVID-19. Our immune system can be boosted by exercising, taking vitamins, or simply by having a balanced diet. The most difficult part is for everyone to have that awareness. Those who know the importance of self-protecting would always be prepared. Those that don’t know, or simply don’t care, would never have protections on, thus, they would never help contribute to a COVID-19-free environment. Even to this day in Taiwan, there are still people that don’t wear face masks on public transportation. They acted like it’s none of their business, and selfishly convince themselves that it’s not their fault that the COVID-19 is still spreading viciously. It is not something that we could change, and it’s most likely that COVID-19 would be able to strive through these leakages.

Hopper’s paintings capture a moodiness and a melancholy moment of our modern life. People in the paintings are isolated, looking out windows or staring at nothing in particular, and trying to send the message of modern loneliness. It seems that these paintings are the reflection of our life in quarantine. However, we are not Hopper’s painting. We choose to stay isolated and try to fight a pandemic together. We practicing social distancing to protect our loved one.

COVID-19 can be transmitted via small respiratory droplets through sneezing, coughing or even talking. The most dangerous part of this virus is that the incubation period is estimated to be 14 days which means people would not able to know whether he or she carried the virus or not. Most of them will assume they are not and keep going outside or somewhere in public and further caused the spreading of the virus. According to the statement of Icelandic Directorate of Health, "Testing and contact tracing are one of the key reasons why a lockdown has not been considered necessary up to this point.” In my opinion, if the country is prepared so well that can determine the geographic origin of the virus in every single case and have an aggressive policy of quarantine for individuals, then the lockdown is needless. However, the truth is most of the counties are not well prepared and it seems that it’s too late for them to tack the virus properly. So the best way to slow down the spreading of COVID-19 right now is to practice the social distancing and develop our immunity by regular exercise, a healthy diet, and enough sleep.

  10. COVID-19 is attacking the globe even more aggressively each day. This is something we were not prepared for. Social distancing is an important thing to follow in order to stop this virus from progressing. Even if you don’t feel sick or don’t show any symptoms of the virus, it may be possible that you are asymptomatic and have been carrying the virus all along. You go grocery shopping, or visit your friends, and may have passed it on. The best and safest things to do to protect not only yourself but those all around you is to follow the social distancing procedures. If you are planning to go out for essential items only, you must remember to stay away 6ft from another individual. If we want life to go back the way it was everyone must follow the guidelines. Only 50% of the people around the world are following these procedures. In order to make a difference we need at least 85% of people to stop doing the unessential things and just stay inside.

It is very possible to avoid contradicting COVID-19, with following the precautions of washing your hands, not touching your face, and staying inside. If you don’t need to go out don’t! Be respectful to those around you, if you’re out in the grocery store, or you live with someone sneeze or coughing in your sleeve, so that the droplets are not spread.
As of right now, there are no vaccination for this virus to protect our immune system. There are many things you can still do to boost your immune system. Eating healthy and nutritious foods, taking immune supplements, and different vitamins.

Hopper’s painting truly captures how people in the world are now. Staying isolated away from everyone. For some it’s harder than it is for others. No one was expecting this. With the posts above I agree that it captures a message of loneliness. But it in order to have things go back to normal we must face these consequences and put this pandemic to an end

Maintaining an appropriate social distance does help reduce the risk of virus infection. At present, the Polish government stipulates that the distance between people should be at least 2 meters to avoid the spread of droplets. Therefore everyone in the queue was far away from others when we went to the store to buy things today. This is a good phenomenon.
How about how can we develop our immunity? There are many different ways to strengthen the immunity, but I think the most basic things that are easy to follow and effective are getting enough sleep, having a normal diet and drinking plenty of water. These methods can certainly help you to build a good immune system against diseases.

  12. According to current evidence, the COVID-19 virus is primarily transmitted between people through respiratory droplets and contact routes. As a result, when a person is in close contact (within 1 m) with someone who has respiratory symptoms, he or she has a high risk of being infected. Maintaining an appropriate social distance does help reduce the risk of virus infection. Having social distance protects not only ourselves but also protects others. Recently the Polish government has announced that people should keep the social distance at least 2m and made many rules attempt to stop the spread speed of COVID-19.

Though some of the rules are strict, loss of freedom for our safety, all of us should obey the rules.
Stay at home and do not go out if not necessary!!!

The theme for Hooper’s painting is portraying the “loneness” of people in the modern world. But to me, it doesn’t really necessary explaining the situation of the quarantine from COVID-19. Because to me quarantine doesn’t mean loneliness. The theme of loneliness in Hooper’s drawing is showing a pessimistic attitude of different people. But Quarantine itself is actually saving peoples life and we should have a optimistic attitude towards it because it will keep us safe. Social distancing, even though sounds like we are forcing ourselves distancing from other human beings. But we should know their social distancing is a positive thing for us during the pandemic situation, and we should not have a negative feelings towards it. I believe social dance and sing and Quarantine will improve the pandemic situation because we can’t control and limit the percentage of the virus spreading from human to human. I believe social distancing and quarantine will improve the pandemic situation because we can control and limit the percentage of the virus spreading from human to human. We should also know that even though we cannot meet people face-to-face but the Internet will also connect people together like it normally is. People might be spending more times with your family and spending more times at home doing what they normally cannot do which I think is not a bad thing at all. Based on some reports the environment is actually improving because people are not working during the quarantine period. So if social distancing can decrease the percentage of the spread of COVID-19 and also saving the environment, why should we be worrying about being lonely like Hooper portraying in his drawings? We will not become lonely just because we are forcing ourselves to keep distance between people, we are doing for our own good and for the whole world to go through the pandemic situation as soon as possible.

  14. Hi professor! At this situation the annoying COVID-19 really make us have to maintain social distancing. For now, people should not go to places like movie theaters or restaurants, or to group events, sports activities, and even playdates.Being away from friends, extended family, and social activities can be hard on teens and kids, but we can still be social, just in different ways. Take advantage of social media and video apps to support each other, laugh together, and take care of each other until the virus is under control. As immunity, I think we can eat more vegetables! Vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts are loaded with nutrients that are essential for our immune system. Consuming them on a daily basis boosts the immunity.

Such as park, bus stations, cinema, restaurant. If it is necessary to go out door, we must wear a mask and wash the hand before you enter your house.
I agree with the social distance because it not only can protect ourselves but also others. Regular lifestyles, good diet and happy mood is a better way to develop our immune system to against the virus. It is important to have contact with your friend online. Because it is not the best way to stay at home without any relationship with others. Also, we can do some exercises to maintain our health.

In the current epidemic situation, we should avoid going to crowded places and reduce unnecessary contact, and replace public transportation with walking. If you need to buy daily necessities, you should be prepared for safety, such as wearing masks and gloves There was immediate hand washing when returning home.
When everyone does this, I believe it can greatly reduce the spread of the epidemic.

COVID-19 started its outbreak roughly around the end of 2019, back then most people around the world still calls it "Wuhan Virus" and did not have enough awareness to it. Especially in the United States, the government has just realized the danger of this virus, and has just began their policy for it.
Basically, I believe at first, not many people in America and Europe payed enough attention to the COVID-19, and then got frightened when the outbreak came. However, there are some countries that was ahead of others when it comes to making decisions, like Germany and Poland has a lot less cases because they acted more rapidly than Italy and France. Therefore, I think temporarily being forced to be isolated is probably the best choice here when talking about effectively blockading the virus from spreading.
There is one more thing that I think, Asian countries are doing better, which is the education for health and safety. Ever since the virus incident started in Europe, no country has ever required its citizens to wear masks until now, Polish government has finally requested people to cover their face with something when going out. I strongly believe that wearing a mask can significantly lower the chances of either getting infected or spreading the disease.
Finally, I think the best way for us to stay healthy is, to not go out if not necessary, to wear masks and cover our eyes when we go out, to wash our hands every time when we got back, and most importantly, to have a stable sleeping time, since sleep is going decide our body's ability on its immune system.

The coronavirus spread rapidly. Therefore, self-protect become more important. How to avoid the contracting COVID-19. Wearing a mask has become a globally recognized epidemic prevention measure , when somebody go out should wear the mask. Wash hands frequently also important. Avoid the place which have much people.

How can we develop our immunity? Exercise and sleep more than eight hours can increase immunity, also can take some vitamins. Don’t smoke! Because smoking will decrease the immunity and the COVID-19 is a virus that attack lung. If people who smoke are infected with the virus. The condition will become more serious.
